NetIQ Releases AppManager 4.0

A network management tool with the Redmond seal of approval has been updated for the .NET era. NetIQ Corp. released the 4.0 version of its application management and monitoring tool, AppManager.

The new release of AppManager features a number of innovations tailored to web services. It has tools for monitoring Commerce Server, BizTalk Server, and the inevitable Exchange 2000. In addition, NetIQ has developed a specific plugin for Web Services management. AppManager also supports non-Microsoft packages. IBM Corp’s MQseries middleware product is another example of its expanded focus. NetIQ also built support for popular security packages, such as Trend Micro ScanMail for Exchange and Checkpoint Firewall-1.

With 4.0, NetIQ hopes to make AppManager easier to use. Accordingly, it updated the interface, enabling 3-D charting, Script-base reporting for end user customization, and a specialized reporting database, NetIQ Analysis Center.
