NetIQ Adds to Exchange/W2K Migration Tool Family

NetIQ bumped its count of migration tools to five this week with the release of an Exchange account migrator and a Windows computing environment assessment tool.

Exchange Migrator helps administrators transfer Exchange 5.5 mailboxes, distribution lists, public folders and calendar objects to targets in Exchange 5.5 or Exchange 2000. The tool includes wizard-driven interfaces, automated movement of Exchange objects and discovery/assessment reporting.

The other tool, Migration Assessor, is a configuration assessment and reporting tool to be run in advance of migrations to Windows 2000, Active Directory and Exchange 2000.

Migration Assessor can gather data from dozens to hundreds of machines and be used to create customizable HTML reports to provide snapshots of directories, file systems, computer and peripheral hardware, share permissions, etc.

The tools complement NetIQ’s other migration products, Domain Migration Administrator, Server Consolidator and NetIQ NetWare Migrator.
