Legato Names New CEO, CFO

Storage vendor Legato Systems Inc. has announced that chief vacancies at the company have been filled. David Wright will take on the dual role of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Andrew Brown will crunch the numbers as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

David Wright joins Legato from Amdahl Corp., where he was also President and CEO of the Fujitsu-Siemens subsidiary. Before Amdahl, Wright rose through the ranks at IBM Corp.

The former CFO of Adaptec Inc., Andrew Brown, will take the CFO position at the storage vendor. Adaptec creates storage hardware and software for end users and enterprises.

Lately, Legato has experienced some difficulties within their organization. After the company failed to provide earnings reports in a timely manner, the company was briefly de-listed this summer from the Nasdaq stock exchange.  In addition, Legato received some unwelcome attention from the Securities and Exchange Commission resulting from ethically dubious arrangements made by their sales force. – Christopher McConnell
