Intel Unleashes 933-MHz Pentium III

Intel Corp. introduced its Pentium III processor at 933 MHz. The new processor is designed to power advanced desktop software for home and business, including entry-level workstation applications.

In addition to being made available today in systems from several PC manufacturers, the 933-MHz Pentium III processors will also be available in single unit boxed versions from Intel product dealers and resellers.

The 933-MHz processor follows Intel's release last October of several Pentium III processors featuring an integrated Level 2 cache subsystem running at the full speed of the processor core. The new 933-MHz processors include this feature, called Advanced Transfer Cache, which enables application performance to scale with increasing clock frequencies.
