AppsCo and Brio Align for Good of SQL Server

AppsCo Software Inc. and Brio Technology Inc. today announced they are joining forces to develop an end-to-end solution for Microsoft SQL Server.

The alliance, which was announced in Monterey, Calif. at Insight 2000, Brio's user conference, will result in the creation of an integrated platform for the development of packaged and customizable analytic applications for SQL Server.

Under the agreement, Brio (www.brio.com) will roll AppsCo's (www.appsco.com) AppsMart in with Brio.Enterprise 6.0 to deliver analytic applications and reporting capabilities to all users in the enterprise. The combined solution will enable organizations to transform data from operational systems to off-the-shelf solutions. The offering will also provide users with the ability to create customizable data warehouses.

The Brio and AppsMart products will be integrated via the meta data services in Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) SQL Server - enabling lifecycle management capabilities to store and share software components. AppsMart offers developers a tool to build and deploy SQL Server-based data marts and analytic applications, and also has tight integration with Microsoft Repository, while the Brio part of the solution will enable automated generation of reports and analysis. -Alicia Costanza
