Applix Adds WAP Support to CRM Suite

Applix Inc., which specializes in Internet-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, will support the Wireless Application Protocol(WAP) in its business suite, iEnterprise.

WAP allows wireless handheld devices such as mobile phones, pagers, and personal digital assistants to access computer content, similar to the way that HTML allows web browsers to access computer content.

iEnterprise is a suite of software packages that stores and retrieves customer data over the Internet, enabling customer representatives to access customer information away from a central office. By reviewing data in the field, representatives are able to enhance their relationships with customers.

WAP was created by a consortium of communications companies, including Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, and Unwired Planet.

Users of WAP enabled devices can view a demo of Applix technology at http://www.iccmobile.com.
