Hyperion, Partners Beta-Test OLAP Server

Hyperion and several partners have reported successful beta testing of Hyperion's Essbase OLAP Server 6. Hyperion Essbase OLAP Server is a strategic analytical platform optimized for enterprise management reporting, analysis, and planning applications. It supports multi-user read/write access, large-scale data capacity, robust analytical calculations, rich attribute analyses, and sophisticated OLAP queries and delivers it all in a Web-centric architecture across multiple open hardware platforms.

Essbase 6 features enhancements in performance, scalability, and sophisticated calculations required to drive a wide range of enterprise-class analytic applications. It is currently in beta-testing at several sites, including Consumers Energy, Mentor Graphics, Sea-Land Service, and Comshare and Walker. Mentor Graphics, a hardware and software design solution firm, is using the beta version of Essbase 6 to leverage data from a SAP data warehouse and build new profit and loss analytic applications.

Essbase 6 provides organizations with greater insights into customer buying trends, product and customer profitability, brand management, merchandise planning, and sales forecasting. In addition, organizations can leverage the performance and scalability to support thousands of simultaneous users accessing hundreds of analytic applications and terabytes of data across the enterprise.
