Cisco Gives Partners Tools To Build Custom AI for Network and Security Operations

General-purpose AI models aren't necessarily equipped to interpret the configurations, alerts and operational data that enterprise networking and security teams work with every day. Cisco, a global provider of networking, cybersecurity and enterprise IT infrastructure technology,  is taking a more specialized approach, giving its partners access to AI models designed for infrastructure tasks that can be customized for individual customer environments.

The new Model Foundry service, delivered through Cisco Cloud Control, provides four Cisco-developed models covering network troubleshooting, vulnerability detection, agent decision-making and observability.

Partners can evaluate and deploy the models through OpenAI-compatible APIs, then fine-tune them using customer-specific configurations, logs, alerts and other operational data.

In laboratory testing with World Wide Technology, a customized Cisco Deep Network Model recommended the correct remediation in 11 of 12 scenarios, compared with eight for a frontier model.

For enterprise IT teams, the platform offers an alternative to general-purpose AI models for specialized infrastructure tasks.

Model Foundry enters controlled availability at Cisco Partner Summit, with partners receiving initial access.
