Clarivate Plans Microsoft Copilot Integration for Trademark Research

Clarivate announced plans to integrate its CompuMark trademark data with Microsoft Copilot through IPOne, a connector designed to support AI-assisted intellectual property research.

The integration will allow trademark professionals to query and analyze Clarivate's proprietary data using natural language within Microsoft Copilot.

IPOne is intended to connect specialized intellectual property information with AI agents and existing enterprise workflows, reducing the need to switch between research platforms.

Clarivate said it is developing IPOne in collaboration with corporate intellectual property teams at 15 Fortune 500 companies and leading law firms.

The announcement did not specify a general availability date or pricing for the Copilot integration.

For enterprise developers, the initiative illustrates how software vendors are connecting proprietary datasets to AI assistants rather than building separate conversational interfaces.

Trademark research requires accurate information about existing registrations and potential conflicts, making data quality particularly important when AI is used to support legal decisions.

Organizations adopting such integrations must also consider access controls, data licensing and the reliability of AI-generated interpretations.
