CoreView Launches Microsoft 365 Security Research Initiative
CoreView has launched Intelligence Labs, a security research initiative focused on helping administrators identify and address security gaps in Microsoft 365 environments.
The group is led by CoreView Vice President of Security Strategy Kasper Lindgaard, who previously led Secunia Research and has more than two decades of experience in Microsoft platform security.
CoreView cited findings from its 2026 State of Microsoft 365 report showing a disconnect between organizations' confidence and their implementation of basic controls. While 62 percent of surveyed IT leaders described their Microsoft 365 security posture as established or advanced, 54 percent were missing at least one foundational control, such as complete multifactor authentication for administrators, privileged access management or configuration tamper detection.
Intelligence Labs will publish practical guidance alongside analysis of newly disclosed attacks and their implications for Microsoft 365 environments.
Initial research covers Microsoft Entra ID authentication, non-human identities, enterprise application authentication and Microsoft's transition toward passkeys.
For enterprise security teams, the initiative highlights the operational complexity of securing Microsoft 365 as its identity, application and AI footprints expand. Misconfigured authentication, excessive privileges and unmanaged application identities can create security exposure even when organizations have broader endpoint and threat-detection tools in place.
