Microsoft Outlines FY27 Priorities at MCAPS Start for Partners Event
Microsoft is preparing to kick off its annual MCAPS Start for Partners event, a virtual program designed to help members of the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program align with the company's fiscal year 2027 priorities and investment strategy. The event will give partners early guidance on Microsoft's product roadmap, go-to-market initiatives and sales priorities across AI, cloud infrastructure, security and business applications.
The event sends a single message to the channel: stop piloting AI, start deploying agents in production. The company is calling this push Frontier Transformation and is tying nearly every FY27 partner investment to it: skilling, specializations, incentives and co-sell.
Microsoft aims to launch in early FY27 new partner benefits packages that will add Microsoft 365 E7, Agent 365, Microsoft 365 Copilot Business, Defender and Purview for Business Premium Suites, and Dragon Copilot seats, with a unified Partner Center experience to simplify activation. Additional launches are new and expanded specialization paths aligned to high-demand customer needs, including Agentic Business Solutions, Agentic Security, Digital Sovereignty, and Clinical Applications.
For SMB partners, FY27 also introduces a customer outcome-centered go-to-market framework: powering work with secure AI, creating a competitive edge with AI, running the business securely, scaling finance processes with agents, and modernizing data for AI. Co-sell will also include Partner Center, which provides the foundation for partner identity, access management, and seller provisioning. Building on recent enhancements in Partner Center, Partner Center for Sales represents the next evolution of the co-sell experience.
Microsoft said attendees will hear from company executives about investments, partner incentives, marketplace opportunities, co-sell programs and technical resources intended to help partners plan customer engagements for the new fiscal year. The core of FY27 focuses on Frontier Growth, through meaningful partnership initiatives and investment.
