Security Gets Its Own Category in Microsoft's 2022 Partner of the Year Awards

High-achieving security partners are getting a spotlight of their own at this year's Microsoft Partner of the Year awards.

Microsoft announced the 2022 award winners on Tuesday, three weeks before the annual Inspire partner conference is set to kick off on July 19 as a virtual event.

Since Microsoft opened Partner of the Year nominations in early February, it received nearly 4,000 entries from about 130 countries, according to Nicole Dezen, head of device partner sales at Microsoft.

"We were impressed by the breadth of nominated solutions and inspired by the success stories submitted this year," Dezen wrote in a blog post. "All were a reflection of the diverse and innovative solutions portfolio built by our partners, and a true representation of the global reach of our partner ecosystem."

Microsoft introduced a separate Security category for this year's awards, as well as a new Compliance award within it. Previously, top security partners were grouped under the Modern Workplace or Modern Work & Security categories.

Also new is an Operational Excellence award under the Business Excellence category. The Operational Excellence award is meant for "partners who drive operational excellence in partner profitability and digital transformation," Dezen wrote.

Below is the full list of the 2022 Microsoft Partner of the Year solution category winners and finalists. To see the country/region winners, visit Microsoft's brochure here.
