DesktopStandard Corp. announced on Tuesday the release of PolicyMaker Software Update 2.0 at Microsoft’s IT Forum in Barcelona, Spain. The latest version of the Group Policy-based patch management product features the scalable Dragnet central reporting system, leveraging Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Reporting Services. PolicyMaker supports Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003 and is priced $16 per seat. http://www.desktopstandard.com

Opengear Inc. released its remote management solution, Opengear Secure Desktop Tunneling. The tool enables both end users and admins to remotely and securely access and control a computer via Virtual Network Computing (VNC) or Microsoft Remote Desktop. http://www.opengear.com

Echogent Systems released EchoWare Remote Support System, a remote-desktop platform based on open-source components. With EchoWare, support professionals can gain control over customers’ networks without monthly service fees and is firewall-friendly. American Megatrends Inc. released MegaRac Pilot, a software management tool for centralized remote management of servers and desktops embedded with AMI components. Tevron announced the integration of CitraTest APM with Foglight from Quest Software. Tevron’s end-to-end performance monitoring tool combines with Foglight to offer the ability to monitor an application’s health and performance. http://www.tevron.com
