Quadbase's EspressChart 3.0 Enables Java Charting

Quadbase Systems Inc. upgraded its EspressChart charting software. EspressChart 3.0 is a Java-based tool, and supports Sun's JDK 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.

EspressChart consists of Chart Designer, Chart Viewer, Chart Server, and an object oriented API. Chart Designer enables visual chart creation and editing. Chart Server, which is optional for Chart API, performs file I/O, access to JDBC/ODBC data sources, and data caching on the Web server for Chart Designer and Chart Viewer. Chart Viewer allows users to view dynamic charts with a Web browser.

EspressChart supports both 2D and 3D charts, and version 3.0 is also available as a JavaBean and Swing component. It can be used with tools such as Visual Cafe, Jbuilder, IBM's Visual Age for Java, WebSphere, WebLogic, and Microsoft Visual J++. The software runs on Windows 98, NT, and 2000, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, and IBM platforms.
