As reported by
ENT Magazine's Christopher McConnell, Microsoft "has released Windows 2000 Datacenter Server to certified partners, paving the way to an official release." The official release will take place at Microsoft’s Enterprise 2000 Launch Event on September 26 in San Francisco.
The news is noteworthy, though, only to certified partners, since Datacenter Server will only be installed on certified hardware from those partners. Currently, only Compaq, Hewlett Packard Co., and Unisys Corp. are certified to sell Datacenter Server equipped systems.
