EDS Information Solutions today announced an alliance with enterprise storage provider EMC Corp. to sell and deliver managed storage services for e-business. The multi-tiered storage services will be based on EMC technology and will provide a range of services at various price points.
The new EDS (www.eds.com) storage services model includes provisioning the EMC (www.emc.com) E-Infostructure as well as integrating and managing the storage solution. The service will also provide increased reliability and performance to meet growth requirements of businesses in transition to the e-business space. EDS Managed Storage Services will be available independently or as part of a fully integrated suite of Web hosting, application service provisioning, or network and security services. The packaging will be sold in both retail and wholesale models.
"These high-value storage services help our clients obtain fast access to the information they need while eliminating up-front capital investments," said Doug Frederick, president of EDS. "This approach allows them to quickly grow into their storage needs in a flexible, reliable, secure and managed fashion."
EDS has also been accepted into the EMC Proven program, which certifies businesses and partners that partner with EMC and provides them with EMC's services and support for enterprise storage. - Isaac Slepner
