AV Firm Adds 'S' to MSP Mix

MSPs are the central theme of this blog, but a well-known security software vendor has added another "S" to the managed service equation.

McAfee has launched a Managed Security Service Provider program through its brand-spanking new SecurityAlliance MSSP. The AV software vendor says the program is "tailored to meet the needs of organizations that provide managed security services."

McAfee insists that this program will not "compete with managed security service providers." In fact the alliance says it will welcome, "pure play" IT security shops, hosting providers and communications companies to the partnership.
