Dynamics 365 Getting Data Security Boost from Druva

Druva is working to extend its SaaS-based data security platform to support Microsoft's Dynamics 365 Sales and Dynamics 365 Customer Service products.

The company described the update to its Data Security Cloud solution on Tuesday, telegraphing its release for sometime in early 2025. Data Security Cloud is designed to secure and protect data wherever it's parked in Microsoft environments, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Azure VMs, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID.

The new support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 will bring:

  • Enhanced cloud-native data protection: Leverage air-gapped backups stored in the Druva Cloud, ensure data encryption in transit and at rest, and limit data access -- with an extra layer of security from Druva's Managed Data Detection and Response, a 24/7 backup monitoring service from Druva Incident Response experts.
  • Improved cyber response and recovery: Ensure uninterrupted business operations with granular recoveries to restore individual entities, records, and metadata with precision.
  • Long-term data retention: Create long-term backup retention policies to meet regulatory requirements -- and securely delete data when it's no longer needed.

"With the Druva Data Security Cloud, customers gain peace of mind with robust data protection across all of their data," said Nitin Nagpal, senior vice president at Druva. "Dynamics 365 and CRM systems track a myriad of customer data, including interactions, demographic and behavior information. With a single centralized platform, customers can better secure sensitive data, everywhere it lives on the Microsoft ecosystem."

Along with the CRM support, Druva announced new support is also coming for Microsoft 365 Backup Storage.

"Druva operates at enterprise scale protecting nearly 100 PB of data for millions of Microsoft 365 users across thousands of global customers with built-in cyber resiliency, ransomware recovery and threat hunting," the company said. "Now, with support for Microsoft 365 Backup Storage customers benefit from enhanced choice for Microsoft 365 including built-in Microsoft Entra ID support -- all seamlessly managed through the Druva Data Security Cloud."
