Microsoft Releases Dynamics SL 2015, Dynamics NAV 2015

The next version of Dynamics SL, one of four Microsoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions, is now generally available.
Dynamics SL is aimed at heavily project-based small and medium businesses (SMBs). The new Dynamics SL 2015 and SL 2015 Web Apps were released last week and can be downloaded here by registered customers and Microsoft partners.
"This release builds on the solid momentum we've seen since launching Microsoft Dynamics SL Web Apps earlier this year and supports the cloud and mobile needs of our SMB customers," wrote Gordon Macdonald, head of global outbound marketing for SMBs within Microsoft's Dynamics ERP unit, in a blog post on Friday announcing the release.
Macdonald outlined a few of Dynamics SL 2015's new features, including the ability to deploy the product on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform through partners. Dynamics SL is the last of Microsoft's Dynamics ERP products to receive this capability; current versions of Dynamics AX, Dynamics GP and Dynamics NAV are already available with the option to be hosted on Azure.
In addition, Dynamics SL features integration with Office 365; more Web apps for mobile devices, including apps for project analysis, project maintenance and project approvals; and improvements to reporting and financial capabilities.

In other Dynamics ERP news, Microsoft released Dynamics NAV 2015 earlier this month as promised.
"We are happy to announce that Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 is now available for download and for requesting licenses for new customers," Microsoft announced on the Dynamics NAV team blog last week. "This release includes improved support for RapidStart code upgrade and data upgrade, ease of use with user experience enhancements and new apps for tablet devices, new document reports, and cash management."
