Two Ways to Save: Discount Exams + Second Shot

Microsoft opens up exam discounts to registered members of its Partner program, allows discount to be combined with exam retake offer.

Microsoft has been providing a 20- to 30-percent discount on all Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Business Solutions exams for a few months now to anyone who belongs to a Certified Partner or Gold Certified Partner organization. In April, the company opened up the discount program to anyone who is a registered member. The caveat: The discount for registered members applies only to exams 70-282, Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business and 74-134, Pre-installing Microsoft Products and Technologies. These exams fulfill requirements for the Small Business Specialist requirements.

The 20-percent discount to registered members comes in the form of a voucher, which is available only through Pearson Vue testing centers worldwide; requests must be made before June 30, with exams taken by August 31. (As has been the case since the introduction of the Microsoft Partner exam discount offer, Certified Partners get a 25-percent discount on all MCP, Dynamics and MBS exams, while Gold Certified Partners get 30-percent off those same exams.)

As a bonus, the exam discount can now be combined with Microsoft's popular MCP exam retake offer that was reintroduced last February. Candidates must register for the program prior to taking an exam with the discount voucher and provide one of the following promotional codes at registration: PTNR2S for any Microsoft Certified Professional exam; MBS2S for any Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Business Solutions.

At registration, exam candidates should state that they're participating in the Second-Shot Free Exam Retake campaign. Exams under this program must be retaken prior to July 31.
