Tivoli Introduces SAN Toolkit

Tivoli Systems Inc. kicked off its Planet Tivoli users conference in Philadelphia with the introduction of the SAN Extension toolkit for Tivoli NetView. The SAN Extension toolkit allows SAN, WAN, and LAN systems to be centrally managed from a single console with NetView.

The SAN Extension toolkit expands the network view to collect and monitor data from SAN devices by adding a menu for device attributes and icons to visually display SAN devices. NetView will graphically display any changes in the SAN device state and send an alert of the state change.

With the SAN Extension toolkit, users can integrate their peripheral equipment with NetView to build open-system SAN and SAN management solutions.
