Lotus Notes Users Expect Problems with SP 6

Microsoft Corp. has identified a problem with Service Pack 6 for Windows NT 4.0 that affects Lotus Notes and some Winsock applications, according to a spokesman for the company.

Customers using Lotus Notes should not download SP 6 at this time, since Microsoft will release a hotfix for this issue sometime this week.

SP 6 is a cumulative roll up of fixes and updates to customer issues but is not a required update, nor is it required for Y2K compliance so the upgrade isn't worth the problems that may arise is SP6 is applied.

More details are expected on the other Winsock apps that are effected and the fix once it's available.
