Devicie Automates Application Management in Microsoft Intune
Devicie has introduced an automated application management capability for Microsoft Intune designed to reduce the manual work involved in deploying and maintaining software across enterprise endpoints.
The service automates application packaging and deployment while continuously monitoring software for new versions. When an update becomes available, Devicie can package and test it before deploying it through Intune according to an organization's existing policies and controls. Devicie has published a free calculator that allows organizations to compare their Intune application estate against Devicie's managed coverage and estimate the operational time currently spent managing applications.
Devicie is positioning the capability as a response to increasingly rapid software release cycles, including applications incorporating AI features. Frequent updates can leave endpoint teams with a growing backlog of packaging, compatibility testing and deployment work.
Rather than replacing Intune, Devicie operates within Microsoft's endpoint management environment. That approach lets organizations retain Intune as their management platform while automating operational processes surrounding application lifecycle management.
For enterprise IT teams, application updates are both an operational and security concern. Delayed patching can leave known vulnerabilities exposed, while rapidly deploying untested releases can create compatibility and stability problems. Automating packaging and testing before staged deployment can help organizations address both risks without requiring administrators to manually process every release. Devicie manages Windows and macOS end-user devices; servers are out of scope.
