Microsoft Adds GPT-5.5 Instant Model to Microsoft 365 Copilot

Microsoft has made the GPT-5.5 Instant model available in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, expanding the AI capabilities embedded across its productivity platform. The model is designed to deliver faster responses for tasks such as document drafting, summarization, data analysis and workflow assistance within Microsoft 365 applications. The integration is intended to improve responsiveness while maintaining support for enterprise productivity scenarios. With GPT-5.5 Instant, Copilot delivers clearer, more accurate and concise responses with improvements to image analysis and STEM-related tasks.

GPT-5.5 Instant will be available across Copilot experiences, available to users with priority access, enabling them to interact with AI tools directly inside applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. The company positioned the update as part of ongoing efforts to make AI assistance more practical for day-to-day business operations, while building on Microsoft's enterprise-grade security, compliance and privacy commitments.
