Accenture, Avanade and Microsoft Launch Agentic Factory to Reduce Manufacturing Downtime

Accenture and Avanade are collaborating with Microsoft to develop an agentic factory concept designed to help manufacturers reduce downtime using artificial intelligence. The approach integrates AI agents into manufacturing environments to monitor systems, analyze data and automate responses to operational issues, moving beyond traditional manufacturing analytics, dashboards and oversight tools.

The goal is to improve equipment reliability and optimize production processes by enabling systems to act on real-time insights. The agentic factory aims to be an intelligence system built on the Accenture and Avanade Factory Agents and Analytics offering using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Foundry and Copilot for unified data foundations and reasoning with contextual, role-specific guidance through conversational interfaces.

The initiative builds on Microsoft’s cloud, data and AI platforms, combined with Accenture and Avanade’s industry and engineering expertise. Manufacturers are increasingly investing in AI to improve efficiency and resilience in production environments. The new agentic factory reflects Accenture, Avanade and Microsoft’s broader goal to reinvent factory operations, where autonomous agents and human teams collaborate to help improve safety, increase productivity, strengthen decision-making and enable more consistent performance across sites.
