AMCC Opens Gigabit, 10 Gig Ethernet Design Center

Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (AMCC), a provider of high-bandwidth silicon connectivity for optical networks, announced the creation of a design center for Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet solutions. The center, located in Bedford, New Hampshire, will specialize in Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet solutions for WAN, MAN, and DWDM networks.

The center will be led by several recognized industry experts from major telecommunications and networking companies. The site will further expand AMCC’s (www.amcc.com) worldwide network of design centers that focus on digital, mixed-signal, PMD and FEC product and technology development.

The center is slated for additional growth and expansion in the coming months. The design team will report to Ram Sudireddy, vice president of digital products for AMCC. – Isaac Slepner
