NetIQ to Provide Management for Unisys e-@ction Servers

Unisys Corp. and NetIQ Corp. today announced that Unisys has licensed NetIQ AppManager technologies for Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server ES7000 and ES5000 systems.

As part of the Unisys (www.unisys.com) e-@ction Enterprise Server suite, NetIQ's (www.netiq.com) AppManager softare will enhance users' ability to monitor Windows 2000-based ES7000 and ES5000 servers to achieve the highest levels of availability.

"This agreement plays a key role in our initiative to provide data-center-class availability and ease of adminstration for solutions based on Windows environments," said Peter Samson, vice president and general manager for Enterprise Server Business, Unisys Systems and Technology.

NetIQ technology provides a comprehensive solution that manages all the components of an e-business infrastructure - the networks, directories, servers, and applications. For customers also requiring application management for their Microsoft BackOffice products or other mission-critical applications, a simple migration path to the full version of NetIQ AppManager is available.

In addition to integrating a version of the NetIQ software with Unisys Enterprise Server Software, the agreement entitles Unisys to sell, service, and support the entire NetIQ product line through its sales and professional services organizations. - Isaac Slepner
