Perle Systems Ltd. announced the LinkStream2000, an all-in-one access solution that combines the functions of a modular WAN router with an integrated IP serial server and an optional Twinax terminal server. The LinkStream2000 will also provide support for Voice over IP (VoIP).
LinkStream2000 allows multiple types of local devices to access central sites via two physical WAN connections. Standard software supports leased line and ISDN connectivity.
Key features include two leased line connections (V.24 or V.35); eight integrated RS232 RJ45 IP terminal server ports to support dial-in, dial-out, and serial device attachment; and multiple function slots for expansion to up to 24 serial ports, 14 Twinax devices, or future integration of VoIP.
