PeopleSoft Releases PeopleSoft 8

PeopleSoft Inc. released PeopleSoft 8, a major overhaul of all 108 enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, redesigned for the Internet. PeopleSoft 8 includes 59 new e-business applications.

PeopleSoft (www.peoplesoft.com) Internet Architecture is built on an open XML platform, making the applications platform independent. It requires no client software other than a standard Web browser, and can be used with any Internet-enabled device.

In addition, the architecture is server-based, scaled to support access not only for full-time users, but for part time and occasional users as well. Directory Server integration in the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture solves the security issue by allowing administrators to manage all user security profiles at a centralized repository. - Isaac Slepner
