Sunbelt Releases New Anti-Virus Solution

Sunbelt Software released its new Mail Essentials, an e-mail anti-virus software solution. Mail Essentials is an e-mail security, management, and automation tool for Exchange and SMTP that can stop viruses from infecting corporate mailboxes.

Mail Essentials blocks all e-mail messages containing scripts at the server level, to prevent viruses from entering the network and infecting end users' machines. Users can enter a search string that filters viruses before they reach the server and anti-virus levels.

Mail Essentials is a content checking gateway, which differs from anti-virus software by preventing viruses from entering the network and stopping all messages that appear dangerous.
