Gadzoox Networks Inc., a provider of SAN solutions, and XIOtech Corp., a maker of virtualized software-based storage solutions, announced that the Gadzoox Capellix family of SAN switches will be integrated with XIOtech's Magnitude Centralized Storage System line of architected SAN storage systems. Selected versions of the Magnitude "storage in a box" system will use the Capellix 2000 Stackable SAN switch or the Capellix 3000 Modular SAN switch.
The Capellix family of switches features the Reflex II name server with intelligent state change notification, and provides enterprise class reliability and performance that enables XIOtech's Magnitude RAID storage system to be shared by multiple servers throughout a network.
The XIOtech Magnitude solution is designed from the ground up to incorporate all components of a SAN in one centralized configuration, avoiding compatibility problems with elements from disparate vendors. The Magnitude combines the capacity and performance of individual drives into a pool of shared storage. Magnitude's Real-Time Data Intelligence (ReDI) storage architecture provides processing speeds of over 85,000 I/Os per second, sustained data transfer rates of over 70 MB per second, and up to 3.2 terabytes of storage capacity.
