Quest Software Releases Vista Plus 4.2

Quest Software Inc. announced the release of Vista Plus 4.2, the latest version of the company's enterprise output management solution. Significant changes have been made to the new version, including a report hyperlinking capability and the new TransVue client, which makes electronic documents visible without having their native applications installed on the user's workstation.

Vista Plus uses a centralized repository to capture, store, distribute and archive reports and electronic documents over any network, including the Internet. It enables secure access to information anywhere with both its Windows and Java clients without requiring application changes.

The new report hyperlinking feature adds the ability to automatically create hyperlinks throughout a report to connect to other related reports in the repository. For example, an accounts receivable report can automatically be linked to invoices, statements, and customer listings, allowing one-click navigation to related data.

Another key feature of the new release is the TransVue client for Windows, which eliminates the need to install applications on each desktop. It works with the Vista Plus repository to distribute, view and print documents without requiring the original application, enabling universal access to over 225 standard file formats.

Vista Plus 4.2 is currently available.
