SpartaCom Adds Internet Sharing to its Modem Pooling Product Line

SpartaCom Inc. today announced the availability of SpartaCom Internet Sharing, a new software suite that combines an Internet gateway with SpartaCom's traditional modem pooling software.

The gateway gives multiple users simultaneous access to the Internet through a single shared modem connection, eliminating the need for multiple Internet access accounts and connections. The modem pooling module allows users to gain access to shared modems and dial out using any application requiring a modem connection. The software is Microsoft RAS (Remote Access Server) compatible, allowing modems previously dedicated to RAS to be used for other purposes. The gateway also acts as a natural firewall by providing a conduit between the Internet and LAN through which only authorized users can traverse.
