Copilot Gets Own Category in Microsoft's 2024 Partner of the Year Awards

The results of this year's Microsoft Partner of the Year awards were announced this week with two new categories that signal exactly what Microsoft thinks its partners should be prioritizing.

"Copilot" and "AI Innovation" were added to the slate this year under the Business Transformation solution area. Not only are those new partner award categories, they also reflect Microsoft's laser-guided focus on AI in general. The company has spent multiple billions so far to cultivate its AI bona fides through strategic partnerships, technology acquisitions and infrastructure development. It's no surprise it would reward partners that help it advance those efforts.

This year's winners, which are listed below, "demonstrate the monumental impact that Microsoft partners are delivering to customers," said channel chief Nicole Dezen in a blog post Wednesday, "and showcase outstanding successes and innovations across a range of categories, solution areas, and industries through business transformation and social impact."

Historically presented at Inspire, this year's partner winners will instead be honored during Microsoft's new virtual partner event, MCAPS Start for Partners, which takes place on July 10, as well as during this November's Ignite event in Chicago.
