Microsoft Corp. today introduced the second beta of its Host Integration Server 2000, which enables integration of legacy systems such as AS/400 and mainframe with Windows networks.
Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) released the first beta of Host Integration back in February. Beta 2 offers new functionality, including reciprocal replication between Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases on legacy systems.
The new servers supports technologies such as XML, COM+, and SOAP, extending the product’s cross-platform abilities.
The release version of Host Integration Server 2000 should be out some time this year. - Christopher McConnell
