Trend Micro Delivers Virus Protection for Lotus Notes on NT

Trend Micro Inc. announced shipment of its Domino R5-compatible Lotus Notes virus protection software on Windows NT. The software package, ScanMail for Lotus Notes version 2.0, contains new features that detect and clean viruses from Notes mail in real-time at the e-mail router, in shared databases and during Notes replication, so that all possible points of infection are monitored and protected.

ScanMail also includes several protection and performance enhancements. Emergency file blocking allows administrators to block incoming files according to criteria such as file name or type while allowing non-threatening e-mail to pass through. This feature also allows administrators to block bandwidth-consuming, non-productive e-mail such as personal greeting cards. Zip file auto-cleaning detects viruses in and automatically cleans zipped files, while the e-mail traffic monitor allows administrators to monitor incoming and outgoing e-mail traffic and adjust configuration settings accordingly. ScanMail is currently available in full release.
