Microsoft Adds Service Agent to Microsoft 365 Copilot

Microsoft has introduced a service agent capability in Microsoft 365 Copilot aimed at automating service-related tasks and improving support operations. The feature enables organizations to deploy AI agents that can handle service requests, resolve issues and assist users across business applications. The purpose-built agent brings customer service context, insights and actions directly to Copilot combining the familiarity of Microsoft 365 Copilot with Dynamics 365 Customer Service data.

Service Agent offers users a unified Copilot experience with faster resolution through richer context and offers action, not just answers. The initial release includes case understanding, summarization, case prioritization, service knowledge retrieval, data updates, workflow initiation and share history with cross-app continuity.

Service Agent integrates with existing Microsoft 365 tools and can be customized to support specific organizational needs. The goal is to streamline service delivery and provide faster responses to common requests. Enterprises are increasingly adopting AI agents to support IT service management and business operations. The Agent is now available in public preview with upcoming enhancements and updates planned.
