Openbravo Seeks Partners on Open Source ERP

Openbravo, a Pamplona, Spain-based provider of open source enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions for small and medium-size businesses, is seeking partners around the globe. The company, which was founded in 2001 under the name "Tecnicia," launched its "Pioneers" program today to establish international partnerships.

Openbravo currently has "more than 40 partners in around 20 countries," according to Lluís Llavina, the company's channel management director. The company's Web site lists just one partner in the United States, Cariaco Technologies Inc., based in Miami and Caracas, Venezuela.

Benefits of partnership with Openbravo include training courses, as well as access to products and services for ERP implementation. There's an annual fee of 3,500 euros ($4813.90), with a bronze, silver and gold status and support levels for partners.

The company's ERP solution includes a basic customer relationship management program and business intelligence functionality. Openbravo Release 2.13 was the top-ranked project of nearly 160,000 projects posted on the open source code provider Web site SourceForge on October 7th 2006.

Openbravo attained a 5-million euros ($6.4 million) financing agreement with Sodena in January of 2006. Sodena, a business development agency for the Navarre region in Spain, agreed to provide funding for Openbravo's software development efforts and expansion abroad.
