Mule ESB Partner Program Launched

MuleSource Inc. has started a Partner Alliance Program based on Mule, an open source enterprise service bus (ESB) solution. The program enables qualified channel partners to gain access to the Mule customer base.

Mule is a Java-based SEDA (staged event-driven architecture) integration platform that manages various service objects. It can be used to integrate IT applications and legacy enterprise resources in a service-oriented architecture. It can also support software-as-a-service application delivery to businesses.

MuleSource estimates that there are "more than 1,000 large-scale enterprise production deployments to date" using the Mule ESB. The company currently has relationships with "more than 20 services providers and technology partners" in the IT open source business, according to an announcement issued by MuleSource.

The Partner Alliance Program aims to establish partnerships worldwide, and it will particularly build on partnerships in Australia, Argentina, Japan, Norway and the United Kingdom, according to the announcement.

The potential partners being sought include independent software vendors, original equipment manufacturers, resellers, solution providers, system integrators and training partners.

According to the MuleSource Web site, the open source Mule project was founded in 2003 by Ross Mason, CTO of MuleSource Inc., with the aim of creating a platform to ease the development process and support the reuse of IT components.
