Avnet Tapped to Help Partners Sell Oracle ERP on Windows

Microsoft and enterprise computer distributor, Avnet Technology Solutions, unveiled a deal Wednesday to work together to help VARs sell Oracle ERP software with Microsoft platform technologies.

The agreement would help VARs selling Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP software, which competes with Microsoft's Dynamics brand of business application software in midmarket and medium-sized enterprises.

Avnet, an operating group of Avnet Inc., will offer VARs the EnterpriseOne software, including complete solutions with SQL Server, Office and Exchange; a choice of server hardware; and partner support, such as education, sales, marketing, financing, managed services and implementation services.

The arrangement extends a five-year working relationship between Microsoft and Avnet.
