Altiris To Release ESS Security Package

Altiris, Inc., last week announced the Altiris Endpoint Security Solution, a package meant to help IT set a balance between security and business productivity.

Endpoint Security Solution automates the enforcement of security policies that adjust to unique user environments, shields PCs from malware and hackers, and maintains and supports established security policies and technologies, according to a statement from the Salt Lake City, Utah-based company.

"Altiris Endpoint Security Solution will be integrated with the Altiris architecture and configuration management database to provide a cohesive, multi-faceted solution to help protect data and enhance business security and productivity," Dwain Kinghorn, Altiris' chief technology officer, said in the statement.

"Endpoint Security Solution delivers extended protection to the PC that is not available from typical VPN, anti-virus, anti-spyware and patch management products...[it provides] control of network connectivity, wireless communications and removable storage devices," the statement continued.

Senforce Technologies has been working with Altiris to provide Endpoint Security Solution, and has integrated its location-aware endpoint security capabilities to be natively manageable from the Altiris console.

Altiris Endpoint Security Solution will be available in the third quarter, starting at $70 per node.
