Three Mice Aren’t Blind

Microsoft is introducing two new wireless desktop mice, one optical and one laser, and has updated its best selling optical mouse, too.

According to a company statement, the new Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 features a five-button ambidextrous design, a tilt wheel, and a magnifier button for real-time enlargement and editing of any part of the screen. It will be available later this month for $49.95.

Meanwhile, the new Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 features Microsoft’s proprietary High Definition Optical Technology. Microsoft claims its High Definition Optical Technology provides resolution of 1,000 dots per inch and a rate of 6,000 frames-per-second to accurately track hand movement.

The Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 has an ambidextrous design with three buttons, and is scheduled to ship in June at a price of $29.95.

Available already, the Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 is an upgrade of Microsoft’s popular Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse, first introduced last September. The upgraded model adds High Definition technology and has a smaller receiver than the previous model. It costs $29.95.
