Dell Ships Servers with Big-IP

Dell Computer Corp. will ship F5 Networks Corp.’s Big-IP Controller software with Dell’s PowerApp Big-IP Server Appliance.

The F5 (www.f5.com) product provides load balancing features between network infrastructure devices and servers, including caches, firewalls, and web servers. It integrates with F5’s line of network infrastructure hardware and software.

The Dell (www.dell.com) product is an appliance server, a preconfigured box with a specific function, in this case load balancing. With the F5 software installed, the server ensures that traffic is balanced across the network, obviating unnecessary failures.
