Software AG Ships New XML Database

Software AG Inc. is currently shipping a new version of its native XML database, Tamino 2.1. Some of the upgrades included in the latest release are improved querying, enhanced processing of dynamic XLS, data access from read-only media, and improved security mechanisms allowing users to define authorization levels for XML documents.
Tamino 2.1 is now shipping for Sun Solaris platforms and will be available for Windows NT and 2000 platforms in the third quarter, with Linux and Unixware versions shipping later in the year. Pricing for Solaris begins at $40,000 per processor, and at $25,000 for NT versions.
