ATTO Introduces FibreBridge Enterprise

ATTO Technology Inc., a manufacturer of Fibre Channel and SCSI products, introduced the ATTO FibreBridge Enterprise, a product focused on mission-critical enterprise applications. Several new features have been incorporated into FibreBridge Enterprise.

The FibreBridge Enterprise supports SCSI Enclosure Services (SES) and access to the FibreBridge via in-band SCSI commands. Additionally, FibreBridge Enterprise offers RS-232 capabilities and Ethernet interfaces, supporting SNMP, Telnet, and FTP, in addition to SES. FibreBridge Services, a new set of options, will provide users with greater control and more information.

All management functions are accessible through the RS-232 serial port and Telnet over Ethernet, utilizing both a straightforward menu interface and a traditional command line interface. The FTP capabilities allow firmware to be loaded over a network as well as via Fibre Channel. FibreBridge Enterprise supports the SNMP protocol, including the FibreAlliance MIB 2.0.

The FibreBridge Enterprise includes two GBIC connectors that provide a redundant path to the unit. Users also have the option of daisy-chaining additional FibreBridges, giving the FibreBridge hub functionality. GBIC connectors offer users the flexibility to use either copper or fiber optic cable solutions, and interchangeability between the two.
