CA Introduces New Defense Against E-mail-Borne Viruses

Computer Associates International Inc. (CA) announced several new solutions that protect users before they can be attacked by e-mail viruses. The new solutions, eTrust Content Inspection Personal Edition and Mail Watcher, are immediately available.
eTrust Content Inspection PE protects users from worms by blocking file types commonly used by virus writers to infect home users' machines. Mail Watcher monitors a user's e-mail client, alerting when suspicious activity is detected, stopping the spread of worms through e-mail.
ETrust Content Inspection PE and Mail Watcher complement CA's recently announced enhancement to InoculateIT, its antivirus solution for e-business. For e-businesses, eTrust Content Inspection is a proactive solution that safeguards systems from known and unknown threats and takes security policy out of the end-user's hands by enforcing it at the gateway.
