Opalis JobEngine Automates Complex IT Processes

Opalis Software Inc. announced the availability of Opalis JobEngine, a job scheduling and automation tool for Windows NT/2000 environments. The software gives administrators the ability to run routine tasks and multi-step job sequences unattended at certain times of the day, or on certain days of the week or month.

Daily tasks, such as running batch files, launching the backup, connecting to the Internet, and transferring files, can all be automated with JobEngine. Weekly or monthly reboots, reports, and file purges can also be scheduled.

JobEngine also offers advanced alerting features that provide status reports and notify administrators of malfunctions. Administrators are provided with a centralized view of job status, errors, and a job description of each process. A graphical interface allows users to build and manage automated tasks.
