New HP OpenView Flavor Targets ASPs

VantagePoint, the new flavor of Hewlett-Packard Co.'s OpenView offers features tailored to the needs of ASPs and other organizations that need flexible access to network monitoring information.

Like other OpenView products, VantagePoint is a network monitoring tool that allows administrators to keep track of expansive system performance, and notifies them when critical problems occur.

ASPs, which provide a variety of computer services to a variety of clients, frequently need to share information with their clients. However, disclosing all of the information in their systems is undesirable, so VantagePoint offers a customizable, automated interface to present clients with relevant information.

The interface is accessible with browsers, giving ASP administrators and end users nearly universal access to important performance monitoring.
