Wise Solutions Releases Version 8.0 of Installation Package

Wise Solutions Inc. has released version 8.0 of its installation software applications for Windows: InstallMaster, InstallBuilder and InstallMaker.

Version 8.0 of the installation software includes several new features. InstallMaster includes new support for Windows CE. The packages also include Wise Update, which updates software on users' machines via the Internet, and user-defined actions, which allow users to create and design script actions to their specifications and then include them for use in the Script Editor.

There are three software packages offered in the Wise Solutions installation software family. InstallMaker creates basic Windows installations by guiding the user through Wise Solutions' Installation Expert, a GUI that leads the user through a step-by-step script creation process, to build a fully executable install program. The package includes a Visual Basic Import Wizard, Application Watch Wizard, a royalty-free uninstaller, and SmartPatch, a feature that creates "thin" installation patches that contain only the difference between application versions.

InstallBuilder expands on the entry-level product, InstallMaker. It includes an integrated debugger, user defined actions and the Script Editor, which allows the users to customize a variety of prebuilt scripting commands.

InstallMaster is the professional edition of the software and is designed for experienced developers who want complete control over every detail of their Windows installations. InstallMaster builds on the mid-level product, InstallBuilder, with Windows CE support; SetupCapture, which allows "repackaging" of existing installations into Wise installations; and Web Deploy, which creates installations that work over the Internet.

All three products are currently available.
