Brio Introduces Brio.Report 5.2 for E-Enterprise

Brio Technology Inc. today announced the general availability of Brio.Report 5.2, the latest release of its enterprise reporting solution that offers support of enterprise Unix platforms - including Solaris, IBM AIX, and HP-UX - as well as Windows NT.

Brio.Report 5.2 enables users to access several non-SOL data sources, including SAP R/3, BAPIs, Essbase, COM, CORBA, and XML. The use of Brio's proprietary technology enables developers to simultaneously access multiple SQL and non-SQL data sources to create enterprise reports.

Brio.Report 5.2 components include SQR Server 5.2, the core enterprise reporting engine; Personal SQR 5.2, a single-user, Windows-based emulation of SQR Server for testing SQR applications prior to deployment; Brio.Report Builder 5.2, a Windows-based graphical development tool that generates SQR code; Brio.Report Viewer 5.2, the report viewing utility for Windows clients that displays screen previews of reports prior to printing; Brio.Report Activator 5.2, a set of three ActiveX components that allow programmers to embed SQR functionality into custom applications; and Brio.Insight 6.0.1, a Web browser plug-in.
